FOSDEM slides ok, but where are your slides from PLUK?

February 13th, 2014 No comments

As usual, you can find the slides from PLUK 2013 and FOSDEM 2014 on [Plus].
You have just to access to the slides page and free up some time to discover and read all the referenced content.

Remember the programs of these fantastic events :

Now, I’ve just discovered that many slides are missing for PLUK 2013 on the perconalive website.

For latecomers, it’s still time to upload your slides from your dedicated speaker page.
Please, do it quickly, the attendees, the community, the committee and myself will be grateful to enjoy your slides!

Schedule for Percona Live London 2013 is up, enjoy the early bird price before September 21th!

September 19th, 2013 No comments

Oh yes, the nights were short last week!
The committee and myself have worked tirelessly to provide this wonderful schedule.

Now, you have no excuse not to register :

First, I would like to thanks David, Ivan, Todd, Kenny and Ben for their fantastic work!
There were tears, blood, passion and much respect ;-)
And of course a lot of fun!

Secondly, I would like to thanks all of you who submitted a talk.
We received a considerable amount of excellent talks from fantastic speakers.
And it was really, really hard to choose only 30 talks among this long list of excellent proposals.

Congrats to all selected speakers, I’m looking forward to see your shows!

I hope you’ll enjoy our choices, we promise a good vibe and quality talks.
I’m convinced that we will have an amazing conference again this year.

See you in London in November
Good luck and have fun!

Percona Live London, emerge from the shadows, submit your talk before September 8th!

August 29th, 2013 No comments

Those who regularly read this blog knows how much I am excited about Percona Live London each year. Now, it is time for me to take part in the organization of this event as a member of the committee and chairman of the conference.

I am really proud to join the committee this year and very happy to share this role with Ivan, Ben, David, Todd and Kenny.

You can imagine that I am honored that Percona has made me this beautiful gift.
Now, we face the challenges!

I am also very pleased to introduce myself as a member of this committee as an employee of Dailymotion. ’Cause Dailymotion offers me an incredible chance to do my job with passion and fun, like never before.

When I started this blog I wanted to do it as honestly as possible and as humbly as possible.
And I wanted to keep the same mindset when I started with Max.
I’ll naturally jump into this adventure with the same beliefs and with the same independence.

As members of the committee, we will have the difficult task of selecting talks and tutorials.
Call for papers is still open and runs until September 8th, submit your talk or tutorial now and enjoy a free pass!

If you are using MySQL, you might have something to say. Tell us about your life, it’s more interesting than you think.
I would love to see some new faces this year, I would like to see renewed talks and to see companies that we didn’t see in the last edition.
Also, sessions about MongoDB, Hadoop, TokuDB, Redis, ES and other open source associated technologies are welcome.

Be sure that the real life story issued from your real DBA life will fit perfectly in the conference schedule and hit the bull’s eye.

Emerge from the shadows, come on and join the community!

Now, we can work hard to provide a great conference but this work will be in vain without attendee.
Did you know that you can still enjoy a special price for the conference until September 15th?

Save money and play for time, you have a thousand reasons to register

We need all of you to make this conference the best gathering place for DBA in Europe.
Because we are MySQL!

I hope to meet you in London in November. If you have any question about PLUK2013, post a comment.

Good luck and have fun!

PS : Special dedication to Shlomi, thanks for your advices friend

[UPDATED] Why you should go to Percona Live (London) ?

September 22nd, 2011 4 comments

[ UPDATED 2011-09-22 ] :
For French attendees : Vous participez ou souhaitez participer à cette conférence, rejoignez le groupe de la communauté francophone pour partager autour de cet évènement
For All : Download the take away PDF of the conference here : PLL2011.pdf
For All : Download the schedules : Percona_Live_London2011.ics

I don’t want to debate about the next MySQL Conference here, you can find a great summary post here :

But just consider the Robert’s point of view which I fully agree with  : Why not put the energy into organizing a Fall 2012 MySQL Community Conference in Europe ?

I just want to talk about the Percona Live MySQL Conference whose the next summit will be the 24th & 25th of October and explain why you should go there (But it’s just an advice)

MySQL is not only a product owned by Oracle, this is a great community, and this community provides some of the best informations about MySQL and its ecosystem.
You can read every days a lot of useful informations and tips about MySQL and these informations are provided by the community.

So, let me explain why the Percona Live is a great place to be :

  • There are several conferences almost all over the world : NY,  Santa Clara, San Francisco, London and more to come !
  • ( I just would like to say that this is not a “San Francisco” only conference, thanks to Percona for that ! )
  • You can easily spend two days for a conference close to you ( and so don’t give up your job and your family for a long time )
  • This is an easy way to meet other members of the MySQL Community
  • These others members work close to you. You can easily keep in touch after the conference ( and you must do it ! )
  • You can meet people behind the blogs you read every days
  • There isn’t only speakers from Percona but speakers from some of the most innovative companies with MySQL
  • Be sure that the tutorial and conference will be at a very high level
  • And finally, the price is really affordable ( but not the hotel in London, sorry )
  • Your comments…

Be sure that I write this post independently and without ever having attended such a conference.
Just read here my expectations about the next Percona Live in London.
Glad to meet you there !

Stay tuned for my feeling after the conference…
